US has 50 million new acres available for energy crops: report
In Oklahoma, researchers at Oklahoma State University have concluded that 50 million acres are available in the US for conversion to energy grasses, including cropland, idle land and pasture.
The OSU study determined “the most economical species, level of nitrogen, and harvest frequency for several sets of nitrogen fertilizer prices and hypothetical biomass prices,” according to a report in DNAIndia.
